The Incident Management System (IMS), or Incident Command System (ICS), is an internationally recognized model for planning, control, and coordination of single- and multi-agency crisis management and emergency response operations.

 

This 40-hour IMS/ICS course is designed to equip the trainee with the knowledge and practical skills required to manage incidents ranging from minor to moderate complexity, enabling effective handling of routine operational events as well as more demanding situations that require coordination across multiple functions. Emphasis is placed on scalable response, efficient resource management, and the structured application of ICS principles to support safe and effective incident stabilization.

 

This course utilizes the Advanced Disaster Management System (ADMS), a highly interactive 3D virtual reality command training platform. Participants will develop interpersonal, visualization, and analytical skills essential to incident management at any level. Through the ADMS command training suite, delegates will be placed in Command Staff and General Staff roles in accordance with the ICS structure during virtual incidents. Interactive scenarios include fires, hazardous materials incidents, natural disasters, potential terrorist events, and other complex situations across a wide range of customizable environments, including urban, industrial, marine, rail, road, and airport settings.

 

This course is based on the principles of the National Incident Management System (NIMS) and its Incident Command System (ICS) framework. It applies these core concepts in a practical and operational context, incorporating applicable requirements alongside internationally recognized best practices. Successful completion of this course will result in FSA certification.
